About the blockwork hatch
Concrete blockwork is drawn with a much larger module than brick, and the difference in module is exactly how a reader tells the two apart on a wall section. A 400 x 200 mm block reads immediately as CMU rather than facing brick.
This generator produces coursed blockwork with continuous bed joints and regular head joints. Use running bond for standard walls or switch to a stacked arrangement where the specification calls for aligned joints.
Because the pattern is built at true size it stays correct when a wall is drawn at 1:20 or 1:50, and it can be reused as a Revit model pattern so blocks track the wall rather than the view.
How to use the PAT file
- Download the .PAT file, or copy the definition into your own pattern library file.
- AutoCAD: place the file in a support path, then choose Hatch, Pattern type Custom and pick the pattern name.
- Revit: Manage, Additional Settings, Fill Patterns, New, Custom, then import the .PAT file and set the import scale.
- Metric patterns assume millimetre drawing units; imperial patterns assume inches.
