Temperature Converter
Temperature governs comfort criteria, concrete curing, thermal movement and equipment ratings. Unlike the other categories, these scales have different zero points, so conversion is an offset formula rather than a factor.
Units covered
Celsius is the working scale for most building physics and product data. Fahrenheit appears in North American HVAC and comfort documentation. Kelvin is the absolute scale used in thermodynamic calculations and in colour temperature for lighting.

Offsets, not factors
Celsius to Fahrenheit is (°C × 9/5) + 32; Celsius to Kelvin is °C + 273.15. Because a zero offset is involved, you cannot scale a temperature the way you scale a length. Doubling 10 °C does not give twice the thermal state.
Temperature differences convert differently
A temperature difference of one kelvin equals one degree Celsius exactly, and 1.8 degrees Fahrenheit. When a specification gives a delta rather than an absolute reading, drop the offset and apply only the ratio.
